The fight against tax fraud and other unfair practices is part of the European Institutions’ recovery plans from COVID-19. In the new emergency and temporary instrument “Next Generation EU”,  the Commission aims at powering a fair and inclusive socio-economic recovery, repairing and revitalising the Single Market, via the establishment of a common consolidated corporate tax.  As a result, business would have a single rulebook to compute their corporate tax base in the EU. At the same time, the European Parliament decided to establish the subcommittee on Tax Matters few weeks ago. Its focus will be on tax and transparency matters, including tax fraud, tax evasion and tax avoidance.

We are committed to support companies in making responsible and transparent tax behaviour their new normal.

CSR Europe’s community of practice on “Responsible Tax” is preparing companies to face the increased scrutiny of public authorities on their  tax behaviour. As Europe is getting ready to kick-start the recovery and prepare for a better future for the next generation, the EU institutions will make sure that companies contributes via tax payments.

In our Blueprint for Reponsible and Transparent Tax Behaviour , created in collaboration with PwC Netherlands, we indicated how companies can:

  • Embed responsible and transparent tax behaviour in the company’s overarching sustainability strategy via their CSR and Sustainability Managers

  • Seamlessly recalibrate and align the role of the tax function both internally and externally via their Tax Managers

Building on the success of the Blueprint, CSR Europe is now offering to companies a complete makeover of their tax strategy approach.

The service includes:

  • Completion of our Responsible Tax Behaviour Self-Assessment Questionnaire

  • Assessment of your company’s approach to tax and tailored support to engage internal stakeholders in building the business case for corporate tax responsibility

  • Engagement of external stakeholders to develop and strengthen your company’s reporting processes.

The service is also available for National Partner Organisations (NPOs) interested in changing the tax culture in the business community of their country.
